About Alicia (she/they)

At the end of the day, we are all human beings sharing the same planet. We were never meant to navigate life alone. While we all have our humanity in common, there are so many unique qualities that make up an individual. I practice from a place of authenticity, compassion, and curiosity to meet you wherever you are on your journey.

I believe everyone is the author of their own unique story.  You have the power to re-write and shape your story in a way that is authentic and empowering for you, and I am here to support you in the process. I strive to create an environment of compassion, curiosity, and creativity where you feel safe to be yourself, to discover yourself, and to step into yourself.

I am passionate about supporting young adults, adults, and teens in navigating life’s challenges with authenticity, curiosity, connection, and hope. I specialize in the intersection of mental health with LGBTQIA+ identities, with particular interest and experience in working with queer folks in eating disorder recovery. I make space for acknowledging, processing, and challenging the intricate systems of oppression at play in our society. I strive to reduce shame by establishing connection and community.

I bring my lived experience as a queer, fat, neurodivergent person in ED recovery into my role as a therapist. I am passionate about increasing accessibility in eating disorder treatment, and pushing back on diet-culture and societal expectations so that clients may foster a strong mind-body connection rooted in their individual values. I practice with a Health at Every Size® lens emphasizing body liberation in my work.

Experience and Training

I have experience working with teens, adults, families, and couples on a wide array of struggles including but not limited to anxiety, depression, gender identity and sexuality, disordered eating and eating disorder recovery, chronic illness, religious deconstruction, life transitions, and PTSD and trauma recovery. I work to create a safe space to pause and reflect on life's challenges and our human experience.

I draw from several modalities including Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Attachment Theory, all of which I integrate with a relational approach. Learn more about these approaches here. I also like to incorporate my artistic and creative background in music, theatre, dance, and art in sessions and encourage clients to bring their unique identities to the space as well. Therapy should be as unique as you are!

Whenever you’re ready, I look forward to collaborating with you to create a dynamic therapeutic alliance that is affirming, empowering, and unique to your individual needs and goals. I see your strength and vulnerability in taking this step on your healing journey, and I am glad you’re here.

Services & Fees

30-minute consultation | Free

For new clients, I offer a free initial 30-minute phone or face-to-face consultation. During a consultation, I am happy to answer any questions you may have for me. We can discuss things like what to expect from therapy and what you are looking for in a therapist. We can also briefly discuss the concerns you are having and your reason for seeking counseling to ensure that we will be a good fit for working together.

90-minute holistic biopsychosocial intake session | $170

This session is different from a consult session. 50-minute individual therapy session | $140

Individual session fees include DBT phone coaching between sessions (if therapist offers this) and collaborations with other providers, such as psychiatrists, dietitians, and other therapists.
