In order to provide our programs to as many people as possible, we have instituted a sliding pay scale for our workshops and other events. The goal is to provide broader accessibility while still fairly compensating the speakers and facilitators by having attendees pay based on their financial means.
The breakdown of our fees for events works like so:
Standard: This is the base price for the workshop. If you don’t have any financial hardship, we encourage you to support the workshop with this price.
Equity: Consider paying this amount if the Standard price of the workshop would create a financial burden. Note, if this amount is still infeasible, please reach out to us.
Pay It Forward: Consider paying this amount if you are able to contribute to ensuring that all those who want to attend our events, can.
We invite you to visit Embracing an Equitable Sliding Scale to find more information and our motivation for instituting this policy.

Lori Nazareth
Certified Meditation Teacher
Founder, MindfulATX
With nearly three decades of experience in the demanding world of advertising design, Lori has witnessed firsthand the toll that stress can take. Her career, filled with demanding clients and unrealistic deadlines, led to anxiety and panic becoming a daily reality. At a certain point, she turned to alcohol as a quick fix, finding solace in drinking as a means of self-medication.
Fortunately, Lori recognized the need for change before her health was irreparably damaged. She embarked on a quest for a more sustainable solution.
In the late 90s, Lori was introduced to Transcendental Meditation, a practice that initiated a transformative shift in her life. By dedicating a brief period each day to quieting her mind, she began to experience a profound change. It allowed her to momentarily disconnect from the external pressures while fostering a deeper sense of present-moment awareness and self-inquiry.
Over her 25 years of meditation and Yoga practice, Lori's life underwent profound transformations. She nurtured a consistent Yoga practice, transformed toxic relationships into nurturing ones, fostered self-love over self-criticism, enhanced creativity, and sharpened problem-solving skills. Lori mastered the art of saying no, shed unhealthy co-dependencies, achieved work-life harmony, and ultimately abandoned alcohol. These changes stem from her cultivated self-awareness through meditation, driving her passion to guide others on a similar transformative journey.
Not only does Lori bring her lived experience to the workshop, Lori also brings her knowledge and guidance as a meditation teacher and mindfulness coach. She is certified by the McLean Meditation Institute in Santa Barbara, CA, and Sukha Yoga in Austin, TX. Her additional training includes Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification under the guidance of Jack Kornfield, Ph.D., and Tara Brach, Ph.D., as well as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) with Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D. Lori is also trained in Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) by Kristin Neff, Ph.D., and has expertise in Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness under the guidance of David A. Treleaven, Ph.D.
